The most common pain after a car accident is that resulting from whiplash. Whiplash is a term used to describe the back-and-forth movement that a driver or a passenger’s body, particularly one’s neck, undergoes in many traffic accidents. This type of sudden, extreme motion can damage the neck ligaments and cause immense, debilitating pain. Sometimes the pain is not felt immediately and it only develops after a few days or weeks. Unfortunately, pain from whiplash can take a long time to heal.
